Jet Ski SX-R 160 2023
{{ financing.monthly }}
With a strong heritage in the stand-up watercraft segment and countless race wins and championships, Kawasaki has now moved the category to the next level with a four stroke, 1498cc four cylinder engine, making it the fastest accelerating mass-produced stand up ever. The SX-R has both the performance personality and rider features befitting a new benchmark which is set to “Ignite the fun”.
Exceptional stability
Approximately 400 mm longer and 30 mm wider, the hull’s larger size contributes to excellent stability in both straight lines and in turns. Sitting high in the water when stopped, the hull’s stability facilitates boarding.
Kawasaki Splash Deflector
In a first for a stand-up ski, the hull features a Kawasaki Splash Deflector (KSD): a lateral strip on the forward section of the hull reduces water splash, especially at speed and in rough water.
Sleek & sharp styling
Reflecting its high race potential, the SX-R’s sleek and sharp lines evoke the highly successful 800 SX-R while giving the new machine a distinct Kawasaki look. MXstyle handlebar adds to the sporty looks.
Storage
Indent beneath the handle pole offers convenient storage for small items like rope, flare, etc. Items are secured with a rubber net. (2018 colours shown)
Superb cornering performance
Development of the new hull incorporated racing feedback. Its agile handling, complemented by great stability and increased power, allows higher cornering speed. Corner grip of the wellbalanced machine exceeds that of the 800 SX-R.
Handle pole
The handle pole is a reinforced version of that from the 800 SX-R (to ensure the durability to match the increased power and higher top speed). Its pivot was positioned to reduce the amount of forward/backward movement at the grips, to minimise rider fatigue, particularly during long races. (2018 colours shown)
Hull & Deck
All-new hull design offers an ideal combination of high stability and superb cornering performance. Extensive knowledge of the 800 SX-R and 800 SX-R race machines was used in the design of the new hull.
Massive power
In addition to delivering double the output of the 800 SX-R and a higher top speed, the easier-to-manage broad spread of power from the new 4-stroke powerplant facilitates control. DOHC, 16-valve, fuel injected, 4-stroke In-Line Four engine displaces 1,498 cm3 and has a bore/stroke ratio of 83.0 x 69.2 mm.
MX-style handlebar
MX-style handlebar features a sporty pad that contributes to the ski’s racy looks.
Steering nozzle
A cast-aluminium steering nozzle transfers the engine’s massive thrust. Specially designed for the SX-R, the nozzle (Ø 87 mm in diameter, 102 mm long) ensures the light operation ideal for a stand-up machine.
Wide deck
Larger, wider floor area gives riders more room to move around and makes it easier to get accustomed to a stand-up PWC.
Water intake
Water intake is via a special low-resistance stainless steel intake grate. Its design, although slightly longer, was based on the highly efficient grate of the 800 SX-R.
