The new KX250X motorcycle takes cross-country racing to the next level. Tuned for off-road racing, advanced tech like Power Mode Selection and Kawasaki TRaction Control (KTRC) combine with a high-performance chassis, a more powerful engine, and off-road ready suspension to equip this championship-proven race machine for the most technical terrain. Climb the ranks quickly and confidently with the bike built for victory. Be Next on the KX250X.
The base factors that have made the KX250 engine a standout performer in its class—finger-follower valve actuation, a downdraft style intake, and dual injectors—are complemented by revised intake and exhaust layout and a single-shaft primary balancer, for an all-around stronger package with enhanced control better capable of challenging for race results.
The KX250’s new frame is based on that of the 2024 KX450, and updates for 2025 to suit the new intake and exhaust layout help to deliver improved handling. Smooth bodywork is designed to facilitate rider movement and control, and fine-tuned suspension and brake components further contribute to the KX250’s light, agile handling. New ODI Lock-On grips and a quick-release side cover add convenience.
Complementing an updated Launch Control Mode, the new KX250 and KX250X offer Power Mode selection and Kawasaki Traction Control at the push of a button. And with smartphone connectivity, riders can adjust engine maps right from their smartphones.
Using the smartphone application “RIDEOLOGY THE APP KX,” riders can access and adjust their bike’s engine maps. Functionality (adjusting fuel and ignition timing) is like that offered by the accessory KX FI Calibration Kit used with previous models. Maintenance and setup logs are also available. *RIDEOLOGY THE APP KX is not intended for use during vehicle operation. Only use RIDEOLOGY THE APP KX when the vehicle is not being operated and it is safe to do so.
A choice of four handlebar positions and two footpeg positions allows riders to tailor their riding position to suit body size and preference.
Already highly acclaimed for their slim ergonomics, the KX250 receives redesigned bodywork that offers an even smoother rider interface. Newly designed shrouds, side covers, and rear fender are firmer and eliminate hooking points, further facilitating rider movement.
Side cover can be removed without tools, providing convenient access to the air filter element.
The redesigned frame based on that of the 2024 KX450 accommodates the updates to the engine’s intake and exhaust systems, while delivering a high level of both light, nimble handling, and a composed character. Optimized rigidity balance contributes to increased front-end feel that translates to improved cornering performance in a wider range of conditions.
F21”/R18” wheels and enduro-type tyres are well-suited to the situations encountered in cross-country racing.
Convenient side stand is standard equipment.
Compared to a conventional clutch, the hydraulic clutch offers more direct feel and lighter lever action. Less play as the clutch heats up during heavy use results in more consistent feeling.
A single-shaft primary engine balancer contributes to smoother power delivery and reduced vibration, which improves control, especially when exiting slower-speed corners.
Complementing the significantly increased low-end torque and the smoother power delivery, throttle response is more linear, delivering lag-free power in proportion to how much the throttle grip is twisted. This greatly facilitates control, enabling smooth acceleration on challenging or low-traction surfaces, helping riders push the limits more confidently, and reducing rider fatigue so that they can more easily maintain their pace for the duration of the race.
Using the Mode (M) button on the left handlebar, riders can quickly and easily switch between two engine maps (Normal, Aggressive) provided in the ECU.
Using the Traction (T) button on the left handlebar, riders can quickly and easily select from two levels (Weak, Strong) of traction control to suit conditions and preference. Riders may also elect to turn the system off.
Factory-style launch control system increases the chance of getting a good start by helping riders maximize traction when starting on a low-traction surface.
